The Allergy and Anaphylaxis Trust (AAT) is a UK charity with a clear, urgent mission: to ensure that life-saving emergency treatment is always within reach — for every person, in every public place, across the UK, Ireland, and beyond.
We created the Kitty Kit — a compact medical zip bag designed to sit inside every defibrillator case in the UK and Ireland. It contains adrenaline auto-injectors (EpiPens and Neffy nasal spray), and a tourniquet for catastrophic bleeding from stab wounds. Just as defibrillators have transformed survival rates from cardiac arrest, the Kitty Kit will do the same for anaphylaxis and traumatic injury.
The Kitty Kit contains two adrenaline auto-injectors and two Neffy intranasal epinephrine sprays — giving bystanders proven, accessible tools to treat severe allergic reactions within minutes. Our goal: a Kitty Kit in every defibrillator case in every school, university, airport, train station, leisure centre, and public venue across the UK and Ireland.
We deliver accredited anaphylaxis and first aid training to school staff, workplace first-aiders, venue teams, and healthcare professionals. Our training covers recognising anaphylaxis, using EpiPens and Neffy, applying a tourniquet for catastrophic bleeds, post-treatment steps, and calling emergency services. Confident, trained people save lives.
We campaign for UK and Irish legislation requiring: (1) a Kitty Kit in every defibrillator station in public places; (2) mandatory anaphylaxis and first aid training for school staff; and (3) first aid education — including anaphylaxis awareness and tourniquet use — embedded in the national curriculum for every child. Our long-term goal is to expand this model internationally.
We produce free resources for parents, schools, workplaces and communities — so that every person knows how to recognise anaphylaxis, when to use an EpiPen or Neffy spray, and how to respond to a traumatic bleed. Because the person nearest in an emergency is usually not a doctor — it’s you.
A UK, Ireland, and ultimately worldwide where no child or adult dies from a preventable anaphylactic reaction or traumatic bleed — because the right equipment was nearby and someone knew how to use it. The Kitty Kit, paired with every defibrillator, is how we get there.
